Denise’s love of dogs started at the age of five when her parents brought home the first family German Shepherd named Princess. She quickly learned they are a breed who loves people and should not be feared. She has been close to all the family Shepherds over the years, especially the current one, Zena! Denise is an organization change and leadership expert who has successfully started and run a small business consulting firm in the District of Columbia for the last 20 years. She brings to the team seasoned experience in customer relationship management, business/financial management, marketing, employee development, and organization effectiveness/efficiency.
Abby Spanu has been dog crazy from before she could walk. She spent her early years showing obedience with her rescue dog, Sampson, as well as raising two puppies who went on to successful careers with the Guide Dog Foundation for the Blind in New Jersey. Abby later showed her Shih Tzu, Monty, to an AKC obedience title and then began doing canine education through the Washington Humane Society in inner city schools. Abby also successfully showed her standard poodle, Eli, in the AKC conformation ring. She has always been very active in rescue, acting as a transporter and foster for local rescues. Abby brings with her an extensive background in stellar customer service and an eye for detail.
